There is someone I have been thinking about a lot lately. Looking back at my life I ponder and think about all the times that I have fallen and got a boo boo. The many kisses that were applied to make it feel better. The daily bed time "tuck ins" where you were wrapped so tight in your covers you felt like a caterpillar in a cocoon. Then when we approached the teenage years, the head clashing, the constant feeling that she was controlling my life and I needed to breath. But in the end, she was right and knew what would make me happy. She knew all of these things because of her own experiences in life, and the trials and troubles that she had gone through. Even in my darkest moments when my world felt like it was about to shatter, it was always mom that knew what to say and do. I am grateful for the example that my mother has been in my life. It is because of the wonderful role models and ancestors I have had, that has influenced my decisions in life. If it were not for these wonderful people, I would not even be a fraction of the great person that they have been to me. I often think of our Heavenly Father being like that. He is always watching us, worried and disappointed when we make a wrong choice. But loving us unconditionally in the end. Our Heavenly Father, much like our parents knows each and every one of us. He does not give us commandments to make us miserable or unhappy, much like my teenage years with my mother. But he gives us them because he has had those same experiences and he knows that we will be happier by following them in the end.
I am grateful to be able to look back on my life and see all the wonderful things that my mother has done for me and protected me from. I am thankful for the sacrifices she has made in her own life to give me the life she thought I deserved to have. I am grateful for my mom who stood on her feet everyday and worked until seven at times, just to pay for my school books and new clothes. I love my mom, and I would advise anyone who is reading this to send a letter or make a phone call to their mother to show just how much they appreciate them. Whether we like it or not, our mothers are the one's who gave us an example of who we wanted to be. They taught us to dream bigger than we were. I love my mom, and I can not tell anyone enough of how much she means to me and the example she has been. I am grateful for two wonderful parents. And I am also thankful to my Father in Heaven for giving me such amazing parents.
